Azores Pelagic

The Azores archipelago, rising from the deep Atlantic Ocean roughly equidistant between Europe and North America, is one of the world's great seabird hotspots. Positioned at the convergence of multiple ocean currents and migration routes, Azores Birding's pelagic trips from Pico Island encounter Cory's Shearwaters in enormous numbers, Bulwer's Petrels, multiple storm-petrel species, Sabine's Gulls, phalaropes, and vagrant seabirds from both sides of the Atlantic. The deep blue mid-Atlantic waters make this one of Europe's most exciting pelagic experiences.
