Sagres Pelagic

Sagres, at the southwestern tip of continental Europe, is one of the great seabird migration watchpoints and the base for some of Europe's finest pelagic birding. Trips from Sagres venture into the Atlantic beyond Cabo de São Vicente, encountering Cory's, Great, Balearic, and Sooty Shearwaters in huge numbers during autumn, along with Wilson's Storm-petrels, Sabine's Gulls, phalaropes, skuas, and frequent rare petrels from the deep Atlantic. The position at the mouth of the Mediterranean also brings passing European seabirds.
