Western Australia Pelagic

Naturaliste Charters runs pelagic birding trips from Augusta, at the southwestern tip of Australia where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. The Leeuwin Current and its interactions with cold Southern Ocean water create a highly productive marine environment, and trips into the Perth Canyon (one of the world's largest submarine canyons) regularly encounter Blue Petrel, multiple prion species, Flesh-footed Shearwaters, and rare vagrant seabirds from the southern oceans. Sperm Whales and other cetaceans frequently accompany the trips.
