About This Trip

Raggy Charters operates marine eco cruises from the Nelson Mandela Bay Yacht Club into the productive offshore waters of Algoa Bay, one of South Africa's most biodiverse marine environments and a globally significant seabird area. Winter trips venture to the continental shelf where chumming attracts Indian Yellow-nosed, Black-browed, and Shy Albatrosses, Sooty, Cory's, and Great Shearwaters, White-chinned and Northern Giant Petrels, and sub-Antarctic skuas. Algoa Bay is also home to the world's largest African Penguin colony on Bird Island, making it a unique destination where Southern Ocean pelagic species mix with subtropical African wildlife.
