About This Trip

Westport Seabirds runs pelagic trips from the small fishing port of Westport on Washington's Pacific coast, targeting the cold, productive waters off the Olympic Peninsula and beyond to the continental shelf break. These trips are particularly celebrated for their fall movements of albatrosses (Black-footed and occasional Laysan), shearwaters, jaegers, and alcids. The Westport Christmas Bird Count pelagic is one of the most well-known winter seabird surveys in the Pacific Northwest.
