About This Trip

Far South Expeditions' full-day Beagle Channel tour departs from Ushuaia to explore the wildlife-rich waters and islands of Tierra del Fuego, including a visit to historic Estancia Harberton and the Magellanic and Gentoo penguin colonies of Martillo Island. The Beagle Channel is outstanding for seabirds throughout the austral summer, with Black-browed Albatrosses, Southern Giant Petrels, Imperial Cormorants, Magellanic Diving-Petrels, South American Terns, and Chilean Skuas routinely encountered. As you cruise eastward through the channel, the open water offers increasing numbers of pelagic species, making this one of the most accessible seabird experiences in southern South America.
