About This Trip

Far South Expeditions' Humboldt Current Pelagic departs from Quintero or Valparaíso into the cold, upwelling-driven waters of the Humboldt Current — one of the most productive marine ecosystems on Earth. The trip regularly produces multiple albatross species including Salvin's, Black-browed, Buller's, and Northern Royal, together with Juan Fernández Petrel, White-chinned Petrel, Pink-footed Shearwater, Peruvian Diving-Petrel, and Inca Tern. Humboldt Penguins, South American Sea Lions, and occasional Blue or Sperm Whales complete the spectacle in these nutrient-rich Pacific waters.
