About This Trip

Birdwatching Chile runs pelagic trips from the bay of Quintero, 45 km north of Valparaíso, venturing offshore to the nutrient-rich Humboldt Current where remarkable seabird concentrations gather year-round. The trips are led by an English-speaking ornithologist and bird guide and target Humboldt Current endemics including Humboldt Penguin, Peruvian Diving-Petrel, Peruvian Booby, and Inca Tern, alongside multiple albatross species, petrels, and shearwaters. Blue Whales, Fin Whales, and dolphins are frequently observed as the boat heads west into the upwelling zone.
