About This Trip
Birdquest's flagship Southern Ocean expedition departs Ushuaia and crosses the Drake Passage to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula — visiting three of the most spectacular wildlife destinations on Earth. The sea crossings deliver extraordinary pelagic birding with five albatross species routinely encountered (Black-browed, Grey-headed, Light-mantled, Wandering, and Southern Royal), along with both giant petrels, Cape Petrel, Blue Petrel, prions, diving-petrels, storm-petrels, and skuas. On the Falkland Islands, participants observe the world's largest Black-browed Albatross colonies alongside five penguin species, Striated Caracaras, and Falkland Steamer-Ducks.
