About This Trip

Naturetrek's Varanger Fjord tour takes a small group to the remote northernmost tip of the Norwegian mainland in early spring, when Varangerfjord hosts the largest concentration of Steller's Eiders in Europe alongside large flocks of King Eiders and Long-tailed Ducks. The rocky Barents Sea coastline also attracts wintering Ivory Gulls, Glaucous Gulls, and occasional Brünnich's Guillemots, while inland the boreal and Arctic tundra landscape offers Gyrfalcon, Rough-legged Buzzard, and Snow Bunting. This expertly guided tour is one of the premier seaduck and Arctic birding experiences available anywhere in Europe.
