About This Trip

Oceanwide Expeditions' North Spitsbergen Explorer is an 18–19 day voyage aboard the m/v Hondius that ventures into the remote northern reaches of the Svalbard archipelago, pushing toward the polar ice edge where the most spectacular seabird and wildlife concentrations occur. Northern Fulmars, Little Auks in their millions at the famous Alkefjellet bird cliff, and large numbers of Brünnich's Guillemots, Black Guillemots, Atlantic Puffins, and skuas characterise the bird life. The itinerary regularly passes through Liefdefjorden, the Hinlopenstretet strait, and Nordvest-Spitsbergen National Park — among the most ornithologically productive waters in the European Arctic.
