About This Trip
Runde Boattrip's Aquila vessel departs from Runde Harbour and circles the western bird cliffs of Runde Island — home to one of the largest seabird colonies in Norway, with 100,000–150,000 birds of around 230 recorded species. Atlantic Puffins are the star attraction, breeding in large numbers on the grassy slopes, alongside Northern Gannets, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Razorbills, Common and Black Guillemots, and European Shags on the dramatic cliff faces. Runde Island sits on the Atlantic flyway off the Møre coast and is also renowned as a landfall for rare vagrants and storm-blown seabirds during westerly weather in autumn, making it one of Norway's best-known birding destinations.
